PORTSMOUTH — On Sun., September 15, approximately 500 participants are expected at the 11th annual CelebratePink 5K Run & Walk with proceeds to benefit My Breast Cancer Support, which serves the greater Seacoast and southern Maine.
Weaving through downtown Portsmouth and over the bridge to Kittery and back, the race begins at Portsmouth Middle School at 9:00 a.m.
The event, according to Jennie Halstead, executive director of My Breast Cancer Support and cancer survivor, is a celebration as much as it is a fundraiser.
“It's a celebration of support for breast cancer patients and survivors where many participants dress up in pink, including bras,” she said. “It’s very special and moving event that we hope can raise $50,000.”
While online registration is now closed, participants may register the day of the event before 8:45 a.m.
My Breast Cancer Support’s mission is “to provide financial and emotional support to breast cancer patients throughout the Greater Seacoast area of New Hampshire and Southern Maine on their individual paths toward wellness.”
