To the Editor:
The Board of Directors at the Vic Geary Senior Drop-in Center would like to offer sincere thanks to all the following towns for their generous donations to the yearly budget needs for maintenance and operation of the Center: Town of Atkinson, Town of Danville, Town of Hampstead, Town of Kingston, Town of Newton, Town of Plaistow, and the Town of Sandown.
The Center is open Mon.-Fri., 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at 18 Greenough Road in Plaistow and provides a safe, warm welcome for our many local seniors. Our services include health screenings, including blood pressure screenings, foot clinic and a bone builders class, information on services for seniors, card games, Bingo, and knitting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once a month we have the Lunch Bunch. A group of folks go the various restaurants in the area. Trained volunteers from AARP are here in early spring to help folks with their tax returns. This year they served 227 very grateful people. Meals on Wheels serves a hot nutritious lunch at noon. Both the Center and Meals on Wheels offer a special event once a month. Food, drinks, door prizes and entertainment are provided.
There are no fees for any of the Center’s amenities including no fee to join. All local seniors are welcome. If you have any questions, please call the office at 603-382-9276 Mon.-Fri., 7:30-11:00 a.m.
