Support for Ferraro
In March 2011, Frank Ferraro was elected to the Board of Selectmen with 903 votes out of 1,919 ballots cast. Those who voted for him likely did so because he most closely represented their values and desires for our town.
During Selectman Ferraro’s time in office he has demonstrated integrity, honesty and has used a considerable amount of his personal time to study each issue coming before the Board. He has sought official and reliable sources for the facts he has brought to meetings to support his views and votes. He has challenged the Board when it has not followed the law or established procedures. Whether one agrees with each of his decisions or actions, or not, one has to give him credit for doing all one would expect of an official who represents voters.
During the nearly three years he has been in office he has been frequently treated disrespectfully by three of the other Board members, his input ignored, and his motions not even seconded to allow discussion and debate. In short, those who voted for Ferraro are not being fully represented as other Board members cut him out of the process.
At the conclusion of the most recent Board of Selectmen meeting, Lee Quandt was permitted by Chairman Clement to speak. He proceeded to laud praises on four members, by name. His intentional exclusion of Selectman Ferraro was meant to cast him in a bad light.
I will conclude by saying that I am pleased to have Selectman Ferraro serve on our Board of Selectman because he follows the governing laws and procedures, does his homework, keeps in touch with his constituents and treats his fellow Board members with respect. Those who have attended Board meetings, or observed them on Channel 22 or streaming can be the judge of who is best representing Town residents and who comes with a personal agenda or has not educated himself on the issues at hand.
