To the Editor:

The Friends of the Kingston Community Library would like to thank everyone who supported their annual plant sale May 18th. The sale grows every year thanks to plant donations from local residents as well as a varied selection of herbs, perennials, annuals and vegetables from area growers. Many businesses donated items to the raffle, including The Green Griffin, Magnusson Farm, Wellington Gardens, Dodge's Agway, Newton Greenhouse, Stratham Circle Nursery and Churchill's Garden Center. Their generosity is much appreciated by both the Friends of the Library and the lucky winners!

Funds from the sale and raffle support the ongoing landscaping around the library, including the herb garden, the roadside planting, the butterfly garden, the children’s area, and a variety of shrubs, trees and perennials along the fence line. Proceeds from the plant sale also help pay for a variety of library programs and materials.

Help in the garden is needed. No experience necessary, and it’s a fun way to learn about plants and meet other gardeners. Contact Rie Sluder at 603-642-7034 for more information.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Friends is encouraged to contact the library at 603-642-3521.
