Plaistow Student Honored

Congratulation to Olivia Rando from Plaistow, who has been named as a 2022 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist.

Olivia is a part time online student at Stanford University Online High School, CA and The Virtual Learning Academy Charter School, Exeter. She has been homeschooled since 4th grade to devote time to her significant pursuit as a competitive martial arts athlete. Since 2014, Olivia had attended 98 karate tournaments, competed 455 times and had won 250 first places, 91 second places and 43 third places. She competes at the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA), the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) and the World Karate Commission (WKC) circuits. Olivia holds 25 NASKA, WAKO and WKC World Champion titles.

She holds a 2nd degree black belt from Ocasio’s True Martial Arts in Plaistow.

Olivia will be traveling to Jesolo, Italy in mid-October to represent Team WAKO USA at the 2021 WAKO World Championships.

Recognized as one of the best female tricking athletes in USA, Olivia started the Trick Like a Girl movement to promote the tricking sport among female athletes.
