NEWBURYPORT, MA — Blue Hill Observatory and Science Center will host a Winter Kite Festival on Sat., February 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Maudslay State Park, 74 Curzon Mill Road, Newburyport.

Come to one of two kite making lessons in the morning at 10:00 or 11:15 a.m. ($5.00 per kit) and then fly your kite in the afternoon. Newburyport Youth Services hosts this wonderful event for the second year. Members of KONE - Kites Over New England (Un-official) will be there along with others flying larger kites so it will be a nice day to experience the joy of kites from simple to sophisticated. Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory will have a small educational exhibit and will also be selling kites for those who couldn't make the workshop or want to add to their collection.
