EXETER – The Exeter Speak-Ups Toastmasters’ Club will meet on Wednesday evening, May 30, in Conference Room #1 at the Exeter Healthcare Building, 4 Alumni Drive, on the Exeter Hospital campus and near the parking garage.
A typical Toastmasters’ meeting offers prepared speeches of varying lengths, with opportunities for short extemporaneous speeches. Newcomers can proceed at their own pace, and there is no pressure to speak.
Speakers at the May 16 meeting included Maureen Montani, John Curran, and Kishore Sasthiri. John Guertin was Toastmaster, leading the main portion of the meeting. Celeste Cole was Jokemaster; Lucy Paine Kezar, Wordmaster.
The Speak-Ups meet on the first, third and, when one occurs, fifth Wednesdays of each month. Newcomers are always welcome. Handicapped parking is available near the door of the Healthcare Building. Speak-Ups is a member club of Toastmasters International, whose mission is to promote leadership and communication skills, in a supportive atmosphere, through public speaking. For more information call Lucy Paine Kezar, 642-8265, or President Paul Royal at 772-1455, and/or visit http://exeterspeakups.freetoasthost.us.
