GREENLAND – On Mon., October 29, the Rockingham Planning Commission will host a workshop at the Hugh Gregg Coastal Conservation Center in Greenland to help municipal land planning board members, town staff, members of watershed organizations, and concerned citizens protect surface waters by strengthening local buffer ordinances.

Presenters from a variety of resource management organizations will describe the multiple benefits of vegetated buffer zones adjacent to surface waters, how different regulatory scenarios protect water resources, the strength of specific town buffer ordinances, and steps workshop participants can undertake to improve their community’s buffer protections.

The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. To register for this free workshop, contact Theresa Walker at 778-0885 or email@rpc-nh.org.

This workshop will be offered two other times-November 5 in Rochester, and November 29 in Manchester. See the workshop announcement at http://www.nhep.unh.edu/resources/temp/protecting_shoreland_and-nhep-07.pdf or call Jennifer Hunter at 862-3948 for additional details.
