GREENLAND - New Generation hosted an evening event to dedicate their mission of “providing shelter for homeless pregnant and newly parenting women and their babies, and helping to prepare and empower them to be successful in life” to the Late Co-Founder Ruth Ford. The event began with refreshments and a reflection of Ruthie’s work in the formation and development of the shelter.

This was followed by a speech by Board President, Tracy Hardekopf, that honored the actions that Ruth Ford took in ensuring that every child had a home to begin their new life, and that every new mother had a support system for this very important parenting role. The evening finished with the placement and dedication of Ruthie’s portrait.

The evening was attended by members of the Ford Family, Ruthie’s extended family, her friends, the current Board of Directors, former board members and the shelter’s top donors. Accompanying the picture will be the outline of Ruthie’s 25 year work so that all that enter the doors of New Generation Shelter will continue to understand Ruthie’s Legacy of giving.
