The Lamprey River Advisory Committee seeks creative, hard-working individuals or groups to apply for small grants that help to spread the word about the Lamprey River.

The committee seeks projects whose goal is outreach that highlights protection of the river's outstanding wildlife and ecology, history, recreation, or other attributes. Past projects have included videos, town trail planning and mapping, land and soil conservation education, water conservation tools, and a lending library of tools that remove invasive plants. All proposed projects need to address an issue identified in the Lamprey River Management Plan, 2007 revision, Grants up $5,000 will be considered for the best proposals.

Application deadline is March 25. Details for the Small Grants Program can be found at or by contacting Sharon Meeker at or 659-5441.
