KINGSTON - The Kingston Town Clerk-Tax Collector’s office will be closed on Wed., May 15, for offsite training. Also, on Mon., May 27, the Town Hall will be closed for Memorial Day.
Dogs needs to be licensed by April 30th, the month of May is a grace period to license with no fines but starting June 1, a $1.00 late fee will be applied every month. After June 20th, a civil forfeiture of $25.00 for each dog, that is not licensed, will be charged per statue RSA 466:1. If you are no longer a dog owner, please let us know so we can update the records.
All renewals can be done on-line, dogs or vehicles, and only renewals. If anything has changed within the year of the registration, the computer will not allow you to complete it online.
You can also purchase certified copies of vital records on-line. If you need a certified copy of a birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificate, or divorce certificate, the instructions are online.
The office is certified to register boats please come in and register your boat and pick up a new boat key.
Tax season will soon be on the way. The first billing will be mailed the end of May and due July 1; remember that the first bill is half of the previous year’s taxes. The tax rate is not available to the Town till sometime in late October. Kingston’s current tax rate is $21.64.
All transactions will be paid with one check payable to the Town of Kingston; there is no check written to the State of NH any longer. The State fees are still paid, but you do not have to write another check, and we always accept cash.
Another improvement to the office is that we are working towards accepting credit cards. There is State Legislation that is delaying the decision to accept credit cards in the office, but as soon as the decision is made you will be the first to know. Office hours are Monday 8:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The office is no longer closed between noon and 1:00 p.m.
