EXETER –Putting bowling skills towards a good cause while having fun was the theme of the night during this year’s Kandlepins for Kids event on September 13. Kandlepins for Kids is an annual fundraising event that benefits The Chamber Children’s Fund, which is a charitable organization part of the Exeter Area Charitable Foundation. All funds raised from this fun event go toward supporting the Fund’s mission of providing bedding and winter clothing to children in need under the age of 18 in the communities of Exeter, Brentwood, East Kingston, Epping, Kensington, Kingston, Newfields, Newmarket, Raymond, and Stratham.

This year’s event was proudly and generously hosted by Exeter Bowling Lanes and Shooters Sports Pub, and provided the perfect atmosphere for a little friendly competition. Awards were given out in a variety of categories, including highest team and individual scores, but the primary focus was upon the importance of fundraising and community spirit! People were able to register as individuals or in teams with friends, and many local businesses got in on the action. Foy Insurance Agency was the generous underwriter of the Kandlepins for Kids event. In addition, the Foy Insurance team raised over $1500.00 of donations to their bowling team! The team of Cross Insurance (Exeter) employees and family, were also a competitive participant, generously raising over $800.00! Honda Barn was another local business demonstrating their belief in supporting the community, as their team was able to raise over $500.00! Other teams participating and contributing generously included Hannaford Supermarket & Pharmacy (Exeter) and Exeter Hospital Cardiac Department. Great job and thank you to all those who participated!

The Chamber Children’s Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization in the State of New Hampshire under the auspices of the Exeter Area Charitable Foundation located at 24 Front Street, Suite 101 in Exeter. For more information, call 603-772-2411, or email Lynn Dow at info@exeterarea.org.
