HAMPSTEAD — As we all know, it won't be long before Spring arrives officially.
Of course, we also know that we've been treated to lots of almost spring weather this winter. But it's coming soon and the Hollyhock Thrift Shop will be getting ready for the "S" seasons of Spring and Summer.
The shop can accept donations of winter clothing only until the end of February.
If you find you have any winter things left after the 29th, please just put them away for next year. Starting April 2nd, the Thrift Shop will welcome donations of good quality, clean, gently used clothing for men, women and children.
And what happened to March you may ask? The shop will be having a half price sale on March 6, 10, 13, and 17, to clear out as many winter items as possible. It will then be closed for the next two weeks, March 20, 24, 27, and 31, to clear out the old and restock with Spring and Summer clothing.
On Tues., April 3, the Hollyhock Thrift Shop will once again be open for business, offering the best possible bargains in really good used clothing at impossibly low prices.
BOOK LOVERS RAFFLE - If you're a reader, you need to take a chance on the latest Friends of the Library raffle basket. The Third Thursday Book Discussion Group has donated another delightful collection of items to charm all lovers of books.
It includes two of the favorite books from the group and a book stand to prop them on, tea, a journal, a word game, a throw to keep you warm while reading, chocolate and many other necessary items.
Raffle tickets may be purchased at the library's front desk for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The winner will be drawn at the beginning of the next Friends' program on March 13th.
You don't need to be present to win but the program will be special one and it's much more fun to win when you're right there in the room.
