SANDOWN — Calling all gardeners! The Sandown Garden Club is offering a great opportunity to buy quality plants and herbs at reasonable prices.
Mark your calendars for Sat., June 1. From 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., the Sandown Garden Club will hold its 12th annual Plant Sale featuring organically grown herbs and locally sourced perennials. The sale will take place next to the Sandown Fire Station on Main Street.
In the weeks leading up to the sale, generous local homeowners and club members have donated healthy, thriving plants from their gardens. Club members go on “digs” to collect the donated plants, which are then divided and potted. Not only will there be perennials and shrubs, but also NH certified organically grown herbs and vegetables that are perfect for one’s kitchen garden. This year the club will also be offering houseplants and garden accessories. Shoppers are encouraged to bring their plant trays and wagons to fill up and to come early for the best selection. Club members will be available to answer questions and help pick the right plants for one’s garden.
The Sandown Garden Club is a non-profit organization and uses the proceeds form the sale for its many community projects. The Club belongs to both the New Hampshire Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. and the New England Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
