ATKINSON – The Atkinson Garden Club will gather at the Atkinson Town Hall at 9:00 a.m. on Wed., November 28, to receive the materials needed to decorate the town.

Members will place wreaths at the War Memorials and the Firemen’s Memorial and the gate at the Town Pound. They will decorate Dow Common with lighted trees and red and gold bows. The cemetery entrance, the Town Sign will have greens and red and gold bows. Barrels of boughs are on the Maple Avenue triangle. The Fire and Police Departments will be adorned as well as Town Hall. The club decorates the town annually for the holidays and provides a festive look all around the town for the enjoyment of everyone in Atkinson.

Following the outdoor work, a hostess committee of Pat Bennett, Chairman, Betty Rollins and Dee Lippold will welcome all the members with a festive luncheon at the Atkinson Community Center. The business meeting will take place after lunch.

This is one of the busiest weeks for the AGC, with workshop sessions on Tuesday and Thursday to make all the wonderful holiday decorations that will be available at the club’s annual Green Sale scheduled for Fri., November 30, and Sat., December 1, at the Atkinson Community Center. Everyone is invited to visit the Green Sale to find beautiful, fresh holiday decorations to enhance your home this year. To guarantee that all the items are in good supply, please pre-order with Catherine Persson by calling her at 362-6013.

Please join the Atkinson Garden Club members as they embrace the holiday season. If you would like to attend a meeting and learn more about the projects of the club, please call Pat Bennett, membership director, at 362-8316.
