EXETER — As the fall air turns cooler and crisper, it reminds us that winter is near and soon it will be time to start thinking about the holidays. The Exeter Holiday Parade is getting the myriad pieces needed in place for Saturday evening, December 7 at 5:30 p.m. That’s when The 62nd annual Exeter Holiday Parade will step off from Osram on Portsmouth Avenue and begin the journey that will ultimately wind the parade past the Bandstand, the TV cameras and a large portion of the holiday hearty who come out to support this wonderful Exeter tradition.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Holiday Movie Night” opening up endless choices for float themes. This year, in keeping with the movie theme, there will be an actual holiday movie playing on an inflatable screen near the bandstand while the crowd awaits the arrival of the parade.

Parents and little ones are urged to find their viewing spot early so as to not miss a moment during this annual holiday spectacle. From the blue lights of the first police cruiser all the way to Santa’s sleigh arriving at the very end of the parade, this is one of the holiday season’s most highly anticipated events.

There is still a need for volunteers and sponsors. More information about the parade is available at www.exeterholidayparade.org or via email at info@exeterholidayparade.org.
