Did You Know?

Members of the small (but mighty!) group of Friends meet weekly to mulch, weed, and feed the plants at Kingston Community Library. Members include Ellie Coffin, Sharon Farrington, Pat Keeler, and Rie Sluder, President, who designed the herb garden. This garden is an exciting addition and an educational tool that is unique to the Kingston Library.Pictured above, from left, Rie Sluder, Sharon Farrington, and Ellie Coffin.

KINGSTON - The Friends of the Kingston Community Library are responsible for the creation and maintenance of all the gardens and plantings at the library. These gardens include an herb garden, a butterfly garden, borders of perennials, roses, ornamental shrubs and trees. These endeavors are supported by all the fundraising events held throughout the year. The spring plant sale and raffle are an especially important part of that effort and support much of the costs associated with the gardens.

If you like to garden and would like to join an enthusiastic and fun-loving group, please join us on Wednesday mornings at the Library at 9:00 a.m. All help is appreciated and you can stay for whatever time your schedule will allow. You will be welcomed with open arms. We ask that you bring your own gardening tools and gloves. Please call 603-642-7034 for more information, or just show up ready to get your hands dirty. They would love to see you.
