EAST KINGSTON — The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library are proud to present The New Hampshire Carbon Challenge. There is a table set up at the East Kingston Public Library that features sustainable energy and energy saving items for people to view and consider applying to their own lives including: CFL bulbs, solar lights, power strips, kilowatt meters, etc.

There will be a New Hampshire Carbon Challenge (NHCC) kick off on Wed., January 28 at the library. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. Following the meeting, a reception will be offered with food and beverages including free gifts.

The EK Energy Committee will present the movie Kilowatt Ours, a Sundance Film Festival winner on Wed., February 4.

The EK Energy Committee with host a Renewable Energy Night on Wed., February 18. Come hear the stories from our neighbors who have added solar, and wind energy to their homes. Local contractors may also share information about energy saving systems for your home, and business.

The EK Energy Committee will present a Power Point presentation on mountaintop removal coal mining on Wed., March 4.

On Wed., March 18, the last night of the NHCC challenge, there will be a discussion of organic gardening, composting, and eating and growing local food.
