EXETER - Shaw's Market in Stratham is holding a Weekend Benefit Cookout on Sat., June 30, to aid the Exeter St. Vincent de Paul Society which operates the local food pantry. The cookout, held in the parking lot of Shaw's from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will feature hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, sausages, chips and soda for a donation of $3.00.

An all volunteer organization, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Michael Conference, assisted over 1,500 local households last year distributing more than 100,000 pounds of food to the needy. The group also helps families who have emergency financial problems through referrals and direct assistance. The food pantry is located at Michael House, 11 Linden Street and is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Again this year, Citizen's Bank, which has a branch located in the Stratham Shaw's, is the Contributing Corporate Sponser. Dunkin' Donuts will also provide sponsorship. Their contributions help St. Vincent de Paul to continue their work in the community.

This is the third year that Shaw's has held a Benefit Cookout for St. Vincent de Paul's. Employees of the store as well as volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul will be manning the grills for the cookout
