AMESBURY, MA — The 35th annual Pat Polletta 2 Mile Rail-Trail Race will take place on Fri., June 21, 6:30 p.m., at the Winner’s Circle, just off the Route 110 exit of Route 95, in Salisbury, MA on Salisbury’s Ghost Trail, a course of packed-gravel. This is an event the entire family can enjoy together. Enjoy a post race party with refreshments, awards, lots of raffles, and a Silent Auction.

The race supports two local charities, Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country, a non-profit organization providing year-round opportunities in sports and recreation for persons with physical or developmental disabilities and Amesbury High School Boosters running programs.

The history behind this race is inspirational. The race is named after Pat Polletta, a running coach at Amesbury High School who created the first girls’ track program in the Merrimack Valley. Polletta was paralyzed due to an injury but did not let this slow him down. To honor Polletta, new this year, a handicap race category has been added!
