EXETER —The Exeter Area Garden Club welcomes new members and visitors to their monthly meetings at the Stratham Community Church, located on Emery Lane in Stratham. A seed and bulb of home harvested seeds started the season at the September meeting and wonderful introduction to propagation. The Club sponsors a mini grant program and ten awards were given to Exeter participants this year, one to Stratham, one to Hampton, one to Barrington, totaling $1500. Over the last four years $7,000 has been awarded to help in civic beautification.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and start with a friendly coffee hour and plentiful baked goods, followed by a brief business meeting and interesting program. Display tables abound with interesting information from the committees.
Andi Ross will speak about “The Snobbery of Shrubbery” on October 16 and November 20 will feature “Cooking with Edible Plants” by Denise Landia.
