N. ANDOVER, MA — A one of a kind, original ballet only performed by New England Civic Ballet Company is returning to the stage after five years. "The Enchanted Glen" ballet is based on Irish mystical themes. The story line was envisioned and written by NECB's artistic director Mrs. Phyllis George. After receiving permission from the group Secret Garden to use their lilting and energetic music, she and Mrs. Roshni Pecora choreographed each scene to the Celtic music. The ballet was well received and was performed to sold-out crowds its first year. Dancers of all ages from throughout the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire auditioned, rehearsed, and are set to perform this unique ballet.
The only place to see this beautiful and moving ballet about love and good winning over evil is at the Rogers Center for the Performing Arts, Merrimack College, North Andover, MA, on Sat., March 24, at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. Join the cast and crew of the Enchanted Glen as they weave this magical story with their dance. The story line surrounds the classic tale of two young lovers separated by death. The magical Enchanted Glen, deep in a lush green Irish forest, is the setting for a story of lost loves hoping to reunite with the help of magical forest creatures and a battle of good vs. evil.
