EAST KINGSTON — Cautiously we venture out into the world. Bit by bit we rise slowly like Doughboys peeking over the edge of the trench. Fine weather accelerates a long missed feeling of well-being.

Our year of isolation has changed our habits. Those who used audiobooks to manage the daily commute into Boston now commute to the dining room table.

The story in our ears can help make the boring tasks doable...dusting to Dickens...

Many exercise programs were jump-started to lose the dreaded COVID-19...nineteen pounds (caused by all that sourdough bread baking.)

Here are just a few titles from our audiobook section. Some are long, some are short, some may bring a laugh or a tear or a shiver down your spine. All will entertain, inform and let you hear a different voice than those in your bubble. Titles include: "The All Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion" by Fannie Flagg, "If It Bleeds" by Stephen King, "The Escape" by Baldacci, "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doer, and "Becoming" by Michelle Obama.

These and much more are in our extensive audio department. Listen while you walk, garden or knit.

Check out our catalog for audiobooks or ask if your favorite title is available.
