HAMPSTEAD — Feel the Power of Positivity at the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., February 20 at 6:30 p.m. Health & Life Coach Maria Kuhl discusses what ‘positivity’ is, and how it can help you. Learn how to create and attract more of it in your life. Positivity is about generating more positive interactions in all your communications as best as you can. It’s about practicing more forethought and improving ways of being more patient, understanding and compassionate during your interactions with others. Come learn more with Maria, and develop a more positive outlook.

The Third Thursday Book Club discusses “The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn on February 20 at 1:00 p.m. In this enthralling historical novel, two women -- a female spy recruited to the real-life Alice Network in France during World War I and an unconventional American socialite searching for her cousin in 1947 -- are brought together in a mesmerizing story of courage and redemption. Books are available to borrow. All readers are welcome to the discussion.

During school February break, there are three family events. Starting with a lunchtime showing of the movie “Frozen” on Tues., February 25 at 11:00 a.m. Feel free to bring a lunch or snacks and get comfy in front of our big screen in the second-floor meeting room.

On Wed., February 26 at 2:00 p.m., it’s time for a very merry Unbirthday Party. You only have one birthday a year, but you have 364 Unbirthdays! Join the fun reading stories, creating a birthday hat, playing birthday games, and enjoying a birthday cupcake. This program is most suitable for children ages 3-10 and their families; however, all are welcome. Please sign-up in advance via the event calendar on www.HampsteadLibrary.org.

Fri., February 28 is Perler Bead Craft day, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children can let their imagination run wild as they use different colored Perler beads and pegboards to create whatever they want. The finished product will be ready to take home. This craft is most suitable for ages 5 and up; younger children may need the help of their caregiver.

Museums are a great winter diversion. Library cardholders have access to passes for fourteen places including America’s Stonehenge (great for snowshoeing), Kid’s World, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, McAuliffe Shepard Discovery Center, and more. Use the passes to get free or discounted admission. The Strawbery Banke pass is also available to use for a discount to the Labrie Family Skate at Puddle Dock Pond. Reserve passes in advance via www.HampsteadLibrary.org. We recommend reserving passes early for school holidays and weekends, especially for popular places like the Museum of Science and New England Aquarium.
