KINGSTON — Kingston Community Library will be closed Mon., February 17 for President’s Day.

Thursday Night Book Club: The Thursday Night Reading Group, led by Dr. John Chandler, invites you to join on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. to journey through the history of literature during 2020. In February the group will read “The Twelve Caesars” by Suetonius and “The Annals” by Roman historian Tacitus. Books available at the library. Come for one or all sessions.

Census Information Sessions: Get information about the 2020 Census on Tues., February 26 at 10:00 a.m. Everyone counts! The census counts every person living in the United States once, only once, and in the right place. Presented by Ron Morales, recruiting assistant with the Concord Area Census Office.

Rug Hooking Class: Beginners are welcome. Learn the art of creating beautiful rugs on Mon., February 24 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. In this class, you will learn basic hooking techniques, including rug types, backings, color planning, and finishing options.

Understanding Bobcats: Don Allen from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will present the history of wildlife in New Hampshire with a focus on the Bobcat on Tues., March 3 at 6:30 p.m. Learn new facts, interesting information, and all about the ongoing research in the state. YOUTH PROGRAMMING - VACATION WEEK

The Great Snowman Build: Brighten up the library with snowmen on Mon., February 24 at 10:30 a.m. Come create snowmen (with or without snow) with hot chocolate and cookies to follow. Please sign up and dress to be outdoors!

Reading with Kide, a local therapy dog: Do you love dogs? Do you love to read? Then this is the program for you! Join us and visit Kide, a beautiful Finnish Lapphund on Tues., February 25 at 4:00 p.m. Sign up for a fifteen-minute slot and come and read with him and his owner Kim. Please sign up.

Makerspace Madness: Join us for an afternoon of designing, building, creating, coding, and much more! We’ll be exploring new and exciting STEM resources as we work together in our makerspace. Children under 8 to be accompanied by an adult! Please sign up.

Tween Team: Granola Bar Bazaar: Need some extra energy to give you a winter boost? Ages 10-14 are invited to come to learn how to make homemade granola bars on Thurs., February 27 at 4:00 p.m. Please sign up.

Family Movie Night: The Friends of Kingston Community Library are pleased to present a screening of “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” on Fri., February 28 at 4:30 p.m. Pizza and popcorn will be provided. You just need to bring a water bottle. Please sign up.

Dr. Seuss Day: Come on over and enjoy some fun crafts and a movie in honor of Dr. Seuss's Birthday on Sat., February 29 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a screening of the movie “The Lorax" at 10:00 a.m. in the children’s room. No sign up necessary; just come on over!

Take Your Child to the Library Day: Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCLD) is an international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Bring your children for a movie, crafts, and free giveaways on Sat., February 29 at 10:00 a.m.
