HAMPSTEAD —The Hampstead Public Library hosts two Instrument Petting Zoos in July. One for infants to age 2 with a caregiver on Mon., July 15 at 11:30 a.m. following Mother Goose Rhyme Time. The second is on Fri., July 19 at 1:00 p.m. as part of Storytime for 3 to 5-year-old children. Instructors from Let’s Play Music of Derry bring a variety instruments to explore and play. The instruments are specifically curated to be age appropriate. Come join the fun!

Middle School students (going into grade s5 -8) can join Hampstead Schools’ Library Media Specialist Ms. Connors for the Pizza & Pages Book Club at the Library on Tues., July 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Discuss favorite books, while enjoying delicious pizza with friends. Children entering grades K-4 have a Constellation Mythology event at the Library on Wed., July 17 at 2:00 p.m. In this one-hour program, children learn about the mythological stories that are associated with the constellations. There is a Magic Show at Hampstead Central School on Thurs., July 18 at 10:00 a.m. for children of all ages and their caregivers. Magic Fred wows the crowd with his interactive show. He specializes in wacky, colorful, and hilarious magic.

Registration is open for the Galaxy Wine Glass Painting Class for adults which is on Mon., July 22, 7:00 p.m. Come paint a wine glass with swirls of blue and purple, creating your own galaxy. Paints and small wine glasses are supplied, but you are also welcome to bring your own glass. One lucky participant will win a related prize. The Library is raffling an Astronaut Bear made by the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. A winner will be chosen on Saturday, July 20th. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets are on sale at the Library’s front desk and the cost is $1.00 for one and $5.00 for six. Proceeds raised go toward the Garden Path Project, for the design and implementation of a safe pathway to the Storybook Garden behind the Library. The bear includes a removable spacesuit, helmet & boots. The suit has a stuffed backpack with fabric flames and an American flag patch. The bear features hypoallergenic fur, poseable limbs, recycled stuffing, and is guaranteed for life.
