PORTSMOUTH —Holiday revelers wishing to start the season off in style will want to reserve November 15-17 on their calendars, when the 23rd Festival of Trees takes place in Portsmouth.
Presented by the Portsmouth Garden Club and the N.H. Division of Forest and Land’s Urban Forestry Center, the festival has become a tradition for generations of Seacoast residents and visitors.
The grounds of the Urban Forestry Center will be transformed into a holiday extravaganza, when local garden centers, garden clubs, historic homes, organizations, businesses and artisans show off their creativity by decorating approximately 100 trees, the Center’s historic Cape house, miniature trees, wreaths and more.
The Garden Club uses funds raised by the biennial festival to award scholarships and grants, to assist with conservation education, to support historic gardens in the Seacoast area and to maintain club activities.
The Festival takes place November 15-17 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Urban Forestry Center, located at 45 Elwyn Road in Portsmouth. Admission is $7.00; children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
