HAMPSTEAD — Heaven’s Kitchen, a ministry of St Anne’s Food Pantry, and St Anne’s Parish will offer a homemade Jamaican Jerk Chicken Dinner on Thurs., May 20 at St Anne’s Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue in Hampstead. Pick-up will be behind the building from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Meals are packed individually. Meals will include two pieces of chicken, traditional red beans and rice, fried plantains with dipping sauce, and Jamaican Coconut Cake for dessert.
As many of you know, they have held three fundraising dinners this year with proceeds going to support the staff at local restaurants that have been hit hard this past year due to COVID-19. They are switching gears a bit for this dinner and looking for your support to help fund a new community garden that will support guests of St Anne’s Food Pantry and overtime, be something the community at large can participate in.
A groundbreaking was held on April 17 for the first phase of the community garden on and they expect a bountiful harvest this fall! All profit from this dinner to fund the various expenses associated with the community garden.
Additionally, they are reaching out to the community to help name the garden. Please include your suggestion for the garden name along with your donation.
In lieu of a set cost for the meal, they ask that you donate at the time of pick up. They encourage you to be as generous as you can at this time. If you know someone in your neighborhood that could benefit, maybe order extras offering an opportunity to help even more people.
Please place your order by end of the day Sun., May 16 by providing your last name, and number of meals you would like. Orders can be texted to 603-339-3731 or by calling the Parish office at 603-329-5886. Please make checks out to St Anne’s Parish or you can pay with cash.
