HAMPSTEAD — The Town of Hampstead in partnership with Community Caregivers of Greater Derry has chosen to not plan and execute the year’s annual town-wide yard sale that would have been on October 10, 2020 (Columbus Day weekend).
The active cases of COVID-19 are down in Hampstead, but surrounding towns within 15 minutes are still showing cases of the virus.
Having such an event is encouraging a gathering of 10 or more people, and a gathering where people are going from place to place. It would only take one person to go from location to location during the event to seriously spread the virus. In addition, yard sales must also comply with the same guidelines required of retail operations. The Town of Hampstead and Community Caregivers are hoping to hold this event on future Columbus Day Weekends.
