STRATHAM — On Sun., June 6, the New Hampshire SPCA will host “Paws Walk: the Remix”, a celebration of compassion and companionship at Stratham Hill Park. Paws Walk is the agency’s most important community fundraiser and thanks to the generosity of kind-hearted animal lovers, is responsible for saving the lives of thousands of unwanted, neglected, and abused pets each year. This year’s festivities bring even more reason to celebrate, with both in-person and virtual walks. Participants can follow along on social media by tagging @nhspca, #PawsWalk, #StillWalking.

Paws Walk is the New Hampshire SPCA’s largest grassroots fundraiser and is critical to their life-saving work. It’s because of the dedication of generous supporters in the community that this event continues to make an impact year after year. 2021 brings a new look and feel, with the festival at Stratham Hill Park reimagined for the safety of all guests, staff, and volunteers. Kelly Brown of iHeartMedia will be back as master of ceremonies, but participants will arrive and walk in smaller groups of fifty walkers throughout the day. Masks will be mandatory. There will be no walk-up registrations, and all guests must register in advance at

Additional entertainment includes dog agility and parkour demos by the New England Agility Team, and a social media contest, the winner of which will see their pet in next year’s Paws Walk promotion. All participants, whether they are walking at Stratham Hill Park or virtually on their own, can enter using #PawsWalk #StillWalking.

“We are excited to hold one of our community’s most loved and respected fundraising events, Paws Walk, back at Stratham Hill Park this year. Since we were not able to project where the state would be in terms of COVID-19 by June, we chose to ‘ReMix” Paws Walk this year, offering the in-person event as well as the virtual event to make sure everyone stays safe and can participate at their own comfort level,” said Sheila Ryan, Director of Development at the New Hampshire SPCA. “The COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely challenging for us at the New Hampshire SPCA and continues to adversely affect many of our programs, from adoptions to fundraising to community clinics and classes. While are programs are reopening with the rest of the country, our participation numbers have been restricted as we remain cautious. We’re relying on Paws Walk: The Remix and the funds raised by our generous supporters to help us continue to weather this storm.. We hope folks come out and support the animals!”

To register for, learn more about, or donate to Paws Walk: the Remix, visit In-person registration for adults and youth is $30.00, virtual adult registration is $20.00, and virtual youth registration (ages 16 and under) is free.
