TILTON – The New Hampshire Veterans Home will commemorate the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America at a public Patriot Day Ceremony on Wed., Sept. 11, at 139 Whittier Street in Tilton.
The event at 11:00 a.m. in the Home’s Town Hall auditorium, will include video tributes, readings and the playing of “Taps” in memory of the 2,977 people who perished in the attacks that targeted the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The main speaker will be Col. John Pogorek, commander of the 157th Air Refueling Wing at Pease Air National Guard Base. A number of other public officials and dignitaries are also expected to attend.
The event will be preceded by a coffee social/meet-and-greet session in the Town Hall, starting around 10:15 a.m. The event is free and the public is welcome.
