ATKINSON — Lions Camp Pride, a Special Needs Facility operated by the Lions of District 44-H is in the process of building a Pavilion/Recreation Center. They need your help! Lions Camp Pride sits on 390 acres with 1,100 feet of waterfront on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH. The Camp is available to be used by non-profit groups and educational institutions for their special programs including conferences and retreats. It’s simply a beautiful place to meet and conduct activities.
The Camp needs a Recreation Center where guests can congregate during bad weather. The proposed building will be 60’ x 100’ with attached bathrooms and a wide open floor plan to accommodate indoor rainy-day activities like basketball, volleyball, pickle ball and indoor meetings. One of their special needs groups has a requirement to avoid the sun, so this would be a perfect place for them to hang out on extra sunny days.
They received an email from this group called NOAH - National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation. In it, they mentioned they saw the drawings for the new recreation hall and “our program leaders were practically giddy with excitement and immediately began brainstorming ideas for expanding our program utilizing the new space”. Wow!
If you can find it in your heart to contribute and help build the Pavilion, they would be grateful. They’re using a Ko-Fi funding site to take donations, at www.LionsCampPridePavilion.org. Their goal is to collect at least $300,000 and they’re nearing $100,000. Help the Lions build this Pavilion. If they can raise the funds to build it they can serve more Special Needs kids. And, that sums up the Lion’s motto: “We Serve!”
