Blankets Donated to Cancer Patients

AutoFair Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) recently partnered to donate 80 blankets along with handwritten notes of encouragement from Subaru customers and employees to Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care, to be distributed to patients in treatment.

A number of arts and crafts boxes were also donated, which are enjoyed by patients who come in regularly to sit for chemotherapy treatments.

“This is the third year that Subaru and LLS have donated blankets to us, and our patients are so appreciative,” said Laurie Tyer, Clinical Director of the Center for Cancer Care and Infusion Therapy at Exeter Hospital. “Patients can feel chilled after receiving chemotherapy and they appreciate the warm blanket. They are good for winter, but patients also like them when they are in air conditioned areas in the summer.”

Subaru of America, Inc. and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) provide these blankets and messages of hope through Subaru Loves to Care, the health-focused initiative of the Subaru Love Promise philanthropic platform.
