HAMPSTEAD — Mark your calendar! The annual Lakes Road Race and Fun Walk is a fan favorite, and it's in its 20th year! St. Anne Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, is holding its 20th Annual Lakes Race on Sat., July 28.
This is a 5-mile Race on a USATF certified course, starting at 9:00 am. It also includes a 5K non-competitive fun walk. Trophies will be presented to the top three runners from each age and sex division: 14 & Under, 15 - 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70 - 79, and 80+. There will also be refreshments after the race! Please come join us this year if you never have. This race is also one of the races in the Grand Prix Race Series for 2012.
Pre-registration is $20.00, and includes a Table Talk Pie and official race t-shirt. Registration within one week of the race is $25.00, with no guarantee of pie or shirt. The Lakes Race is just one part of an action-packed day at the 31st Annual St. Anne Summerfest, which includes games for all ages, free live entertainment on stage, bounce tents, face painting, a craft and art fair, beautiful gift baskets, a vintage car show, a bake sale, a baking competition, grill fare and refreshments, a silent auction, and cash and gift raffles.
