---- — HAMPSTEAD – In the fifth week of regular season play, United Business Machines (UBM) held off a late fourth quarter surge by Small World Wireless to win 56-53 and keep Small World winless so far. Hampstead Center Market handed Atkinson Graphics their second loss in a row 56-53, and RAM Printing drummed Century Copiers 73-58.

UNITED BUSINESS MACHINES (UBM) 56 (3-2)

SMALL WORLD WIRELESS 53 (0-5)

UBM was once again led by John Ganem with 18 points. Bob Clark popped in 14 including perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, Gary Sonnenscham slipped in 9 including two 3-pointers, Peter Sweet plunked in 7, Ken Fure tossed in 6, Dana Knowles added 2 and great defense from Jim Gardner and Howie Steadman.

Small World was led by Bill Chasse with 18 including two 3’s. Bill Whearty slammed in 13, Bob Dudal slipped in 7, Dave Youngblood popped in 5, Gerry Collins willed in 4, Chad Dresser, Rick Leuchte and rookie John Boutin all added 2 each.

HAMPSTEAD CENTER MARKET 41 (4-1)

ATKINSON GRAPHICS 35 (3-2)

Center Market was once again led by rookie Steve Ellis with 17 and nice 8-10 from the foul line. Steve Drelick rammed in 11 with nice 3-4 from the line, Mike Desmond also added 11 but weak 2-5 from the line, Dennis Faino slipped in 2 and great defense from Dave Rowell (although he missed both free throw attempts), Mike Pierce and Keith Capulli.

Atkinson was led by Sean Morrissey with 13. Bob Edwards and Tom Ferrari both slipped in 6, John Mayhew slid in 4, Ron Buccini and Mike Sandberg both popped in 3 and good hustle from Jerry Kamitian and Bob Giordano.

RAM PRINTING 73 (4-1)

CENTURY COPIERS 58 (1-4)

RAM was led by hot shooting Ben Ruggles with 27 including four 3’s but dismal 1-4 from the line. Craig Anderson dropped in 15 but his night ended abruptly after a technical foul, Gary Cebula popped in 11 including two 3’s but poor 1-4 from the line, Joe Dzengeleski also added 11, Mike McConnell popped in three 3-pointers for 9 points, and great defense from Anthony Serino, Mike Rockwood and Jim White.

Century was led by Rich Wells with 20 including two 3’s and perfect 2-2 from the line. John Keisling slammed in 16, Ross Huntington popped in 10 but missed both free throws, Frank Clemente and Ray Wilburn added 4, and Mike Koutelis and rookie Kevin Bartolotta each added 2.
