Over-the-Hill League

HAMPSTEAD – With only two weeks left in the regular season, there were three lopsided games this night that saw league leader Verizon Wireless crush Atkinson Graphics 54-30, RAM Printing slammed a short-handed Esther’s E’s 54-28 and Century Copiers smashed Center Market 54-39.

VERIZON WIRELESS 54 (6-2)

ATKINSON GRAPHICS 30 (3-5)

Verizon was led by Anderson with 15 including four 3’s but weak 1-3 from the line. Whitehouse poured in 11 including one 3, Edwards slipped in 10, Drelick muscled in 8, Wlodyka popped in 6, Rowell and Milburn both chipped in 2 each.

Atkinson was led by Morrissey with 14 with nice 4-5 from the line. Ferrari dropped in 6 but dismal 2-4 from the line and a technical foul that had him sitting for awhile. Bell also popped in 6 with perfect 2-2 from the line and Buccini added 4.

RAM PRINTING 54 (5-3)

ESTHER’S E’S 28 (4-4)

RAM was once again led by Ellis with 17 including three 3’s. Raumikaitis jammed in 10, Huntington popped in 9 including one 3, Koutelis plinked in 8 including two 3’s, Faino slipped in 4, Mayhew willed in 3 on a 3 but missed both free throws, Cebula, Serino and Capulli all chipped in 2.

Esther’s was once again led by rookie Aher with 12. Keisling dropped in 8, Fure slipped in 4 but missed both free throw attempts, and Pierce also added 4.

CENTURY COPIERS 54 (5-3)

HAMPSTEAD CENTER MARKET (3-5)

Century was led by Ganem with 14. Clark slipped in 11 including one 3 and perfect 2-2 from the line, Sonnenscham popped in 9 including one 3, Dudal slipped in 6 but missed all three free throw attempts, Meagher eased in 4 but dismally missed all six free throw attempts, McConnell and Gardner popped in 3 on a 3, Sweet and Rockwood chipped in 2 each.

Center Market was led by Munro with 12 but weak 2-4 from the line. Danner and Dresser each added 6, Chasse 5, Goyette 4, Dzengeleski and Leuchte 3 and good hustle from Steadman.

    LAWRENCE — Marie Rose (Robidoux) Audy, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Betit) and Alfred Robidoux, originally of Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Armand Joseph Audy, who passed away on June 28, 1976.

    Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.
