KINGSTON – Sat., September 15, is the return of the Reach the Beach Relay. The high school is a transition station for the entire day for runners to stop, take a shower, have some food, take a nap and change team members out. We are looking for volunteers to take shifts throughout the day in a variety of ways. Many hands make light work-please contact Boosters President, Sheila Pierce, if you can help at bilkm@aol.com or volunteer coordinator, Renee LeBlanc at renee.leblanc2@comcast.net. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year to benefit your athletes.
Homecoming weekend is scheduled for September 29. The theme this year is Animal Groups. The Senior class will represent Farm Animals, the Juniors will represent Artic Animals, the Sophomores will represent Birds, and the Freshman will represent Jungle Animals. Homecoming opens on Fri., September 28, with field hockey games at Chase Field at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Sat., September 29 begins with a parade at 8:00 a.m. beginning at St. Frederick’s church on New Boston Road in Kingston at will end at the high school at 17 Danville Road. Following the parade will be skits, dances and lots of food for sale by all classes throughout the day. There will be a Fun Run X-Country race which the public is invited to attend, soccer games, a football game, and many chances for you to come show your Sanborn Pride. This is a weekend not to be missed by students, parents, grandparents and families of the Sanborn Regional School district. The concession stand will be open all day sponsored by the Boosters, and many volunteers are needed. If you can give an hour or two during the day, please contact Sheila Pierce.
Welcome aboard Kathy Sprackland as our new Vice President this year. Returning officers are Sheila Pierce as President; Barbara Hunt as Treasurer; Patricia Wlasuk as Secretary, and Deb Basiliere for Public Relations.
The next Boosters meeting will be held on Thurs., September 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. If you are a freshman parent and want to find out what Homecoming is all about, stop by and say hello.
