---- — HAMPSTEAD – In the first game of the season, team captain Craig Wlodyka started his Verizon Wireless team off on the right foot be beating captain Mike Koutelis’ RAM Printing 54-43. Rookie Captain Bob Clark had his Century Copier team run all over Captain Jerry Kamitian’s Atkinson Graphics team 56-34. In the final game, rookie Captain Bob Giordano got his Esther’s Escorts team off to a hot start by squeaking by rookie Captain Dick Danner’s Hampstead Center Market team 44-42.



Verizon had three men in double figures including Craig Anderson with 15 including three 3-pointers, Bob Edwards with 14, Jim Whitehouse with 12, Ray Wilburn scored 8, sponsor Steve Drelick with 4, Craig Wlodyka with 1 and outstanding defense by big Paul Ramos.

RAM was led by Steve Ellis with 19 including three 3’s. Returnee Mark Raumikaitis rammed in 11 including nice 3-4 from the free throw line. Gary Cebula added 6 and was also 3-4 from the line, Ross Huntington popped in 5, John Mayhew slipped in 2 and good hustle from Mike Koutelis, Dennis Faino and Keith Capulli.



Century was led by Kevin Meagher with 17. John Ganem dropped in 12, Commissioner Mike McConnell zinged in 9 including two 3’s but dismal 1-3 from the line. Bob Clark also added 9, Bob Dudal popped topped in 7 and James Gardner added 2.

Atkinson was led by last year’s MVP Sean Morrissey with 18 including three 3’s. Gerry Collins’ hot hand added 7 with two 3’s, Don Bell dropped in 6, Jim White slipped in 3 on a three, and good hustle from Jerry Kamitian, Kevin Bartolotta and Kevin Stanton.



Ben Ruggles led the Escorts with 17 including huge five 3’s. Big John Keisling knocked in 10, rookie Doug Ahern slipped in 9, rookie Bob Ashe slipped in 6 but missed both free throws, rookie Paul Daly scored two on perfect two for two free throw shooting, and great defense from Bob Giordano, Ken Fure and Mike Pierce.

Center Market was led by big Dave Munro with 17 including awesome 11-12 from the line. Dave Goyette dropped in 8, Dick Danner popped in 5, big Joe Dzengeleski, Chad Dresser and Billy Chasse all added 4 and good hustle from Ricky Leuchte and Howie Steadman.
