---- — HAMPSTEAD – In the seventh week of regular season play, Hampstead Center Market took sole possession of first place by shutting down RAM Printing presses 61-59. Century Copiers kept Small World Wireless winless by trouncing them 70-54. Atkinson Graphics squeezed by United Business Machines (UBM) 40-37.
Hampstead Center Market 61 (6-1)
Ram Printing 59 (5-2)
Hampstead Center Market was once again led by rookie Steve Ellis with 26 points including three 3-pointers. Mike Desmond chunked in 18, Bill Fantini popped in 10, Steve Drelick rammed in 4 with perfect 2-2 from the free throw line, Keith Capulli slipped in 2, Mike Pierce added 1 and great defense from Dave Rowell and Dennis Faino.
RAM Printing was led by Ben Ruggles with 29 including four 3’s and nice 5-6 from the line. Gary Cebula popped in 15 including two 3’s but dismal 3-7 from the line. Craig Anderson plunked in 8 with one 3 and perfect 1-1 from the line. Mike McConnell slipped in 5 including one 3 and Joe Dzengeleski added 2 but missed both free throw opportunities. Good hustle was provided by Anthony Serino, Mike Rockwood and Jim White.
Century Copiers 70 (2-5)
Small World Wireless 54 (0-7)
Century Copiers was led by Rich Wells with 21 including two 3’s and perfect 1-1 from the line. John Keisling slammed in 13 with perfect 3-3 from the line. Ray Wilburn slipped in a season high 10 points, Mike Koutelis popped in 8 including one 3. Ross Huntington slipped in 7 including one 3, Dave Wojo and rookie Kevin Bartolotta each added 4, and Frank Clemente added 3.
Small World was led by Bill Chasse with 17 but atrocious 1-5 from the line. Bill Whearty plunked in 15 but weak 1-3 from the line. Dave Youngblood willed in 9, Bob Dudal slipped in 6, Rick Leuchte popped in 5 including one 3, Chad Dresser added 2 and good hustle from rookie John Boutin and veteran Gerry Collins.
Atkinson Graphics 40 (5-2)
United Business Machines 37 (3-4)
Atkinson was led by Ron Buccini with 13. Bob Edwards whirled in 12, Mike Sandberg plinked in 7, Tom Ferrari popped in 6, Sean Morrissey was held to 4 and missed both free throw attempts, Kevin Stanton slipped in 2 but missed both free throw opportunities, and good defense from Jerry Kamitian and Bob Giordano.
UBM was led by John Ganem with 10. Peter Sweet dropped in 9 but dismal 1-4 from the line. Bob Clark also added 9, Gary Sonnenscham popped in 4 including one 3, Kent Anson and Ken Fure both added 2, James Gardner 1 and good hustle from Dana Knowles and Howie Steadman.
