  • Timberlane: Expressions, Emotions Run High

    Timberlane Regional High School Class of 2014 graduated outside giving parents, grandparents, friends, and other relatives a chance to view the pomp and circumstance of tomorrow’s leaders. The morning was filled with emotions, expressions, and surprises.   • 'Rats' at Epping Elementary

    A high-spirited performance of the musical RATS was presented by Epping Elementary School students in April, under the direction of music teacher Virginia Avery. It is a humorous fairy tale that tells the story of the pied piper. The cast included fifty-five performers and thirty set crew members, from grades 3-5. The set was designed and painted under the direction of art teacher Sarah Boudreau. Special thanks to Mrs. Avery and Mrs. Boudreau for their hard work and dedication to make this show a great success. Many thanks to Sean Avery, Jim and Becky Fainer for contributing sets, props and costumes. Thanks to Epping school administration, staff, volunteers and the community for their support of the EES Arts and Music program.

  • Once Upon an Island

    Hampstead Academy Drama Club presented the play titled, "Once Upon this Island, Jr.", on April 11 and 12, at Hampstead Academy. Students sang and danced their way into the hearts of their audience with this delightful tale. Pictured are students Nicole Capozzi, Hailey Robbins, and Jeffrey Pratt.

  • Sandra Wagoner, 52

    Merrimac, MA — Sandy entered into eternal peace at home in Tennessee on April 11. She was born in Malden, Mass., and went to Haverhill and Pentucket schools. She worked at AT&T in North Andover, at the shoe shop and nursing homes in Haverhill, and lastly at Danville store in Danville, N.H. Sandy moved to Tennessee in 2011 to welcome the birth of her first grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Carr; father, Roland Gurley, and grandparents, Virginia and Edson Peck. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband of 31 years, John Wagoner; son, Brandon Wagoner and his wife, Shannon; grandson, Derek; parents, Robert and Elaine Leatham; aunts, Sharon (Arthur) Benjamin, Nancy (Ed) Hamilton, Gloria Crumel, Ruth McKewen, and Uncle Charlie Peck. Also, several cousins, nieces, nephews, loving in-laws and a host of longtime friends.

    Sandown, N.H. — Brenda (Coyle) Dutton, 68, of Sandown, N.H., died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Brenda was born in Liverpool, England on Oct. 1, 1945, a daughter of the late John and Florence (Dobson) Coyle.

    Meredith, NH — Elwood (Al) Shaw, 93, of Center Harbor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Forestview Manor in Meredith. He was the beloved husband of the late Greta L. (Sykes) Shaw, to whom he was married for 62 years.

  • Jo Ann Hughes, 79

    Sandown, NH — Jo Ann (Phelps) Hughes of Sandown, New Hampshire passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, surrounded by all of her children at home. She was born in Little Bend Kentucky, to Beatrice (Shepherd) Phelps and John (Cat) Phelps in 1934. Jo Ann was predeceased by brothers, Marcus Phelps, Johnny Phelps, Forrest Phelps and sisters, Juanita Phelps, and Jeanette (Phelps) Vincent. She is survived by brother, Donald Quiggins of Georgia; sisters, Geneva (Phelps) Stanley of Kentucky, and Frances (Phelps) Bratcher of Tennessee who had just visited Jo Ann in September of 2013.
