EXETER - A summary of Exeter’s School District Meeting dates and Warrant Article topics are presented here for quick reference:

Brentwood: School District Meeting: Sat., March 9, 9:00 a.m., Swasey Central School, Proposed Budget: $5,176,504. No other Warrant Articles Voting Day: Tues., March 12, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Brentwood Recreation Center.

East Kingston: Proposed Budget: $2,875,066 Default Budget: $2,837,876. No other Warrant Articles. Voting Day: Tues., March 12, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., East Kingston Elementary School.

Exete: Proposed Budget: $15,646,132 Default Budget: $15,666,281. Other Warrant Articles: Exeter Paraprofessional Association contract—proposed three-years with estimated costs of $86,619 (2013-14); $74,859 (2014-15); $72,679 (2015-16); Use $373,673 from the 1997 Exeter fund to offset bond payments for the Cooperative Middle School . Voting Day: Tues., March 12 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Talbot Gym, Tuck Learning Campus.

Exeter Region Cooperative: Proposed Budget: $52,700,000, Default Budget: $53,,048,087. No other Warrant Articles. Voting Day: Tues., March 12—Each respective town.

Kensington: Proposed Budget: $2,680,495. Default Budget: $2,831,122. Other Warrant Article:

Kensington Education Association—proposed three years with estimated costs of $48,967 (2013-14); $49,804 (2014-15); $43,007 (2015-16). Voting Day: Tues., March 12, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Kensington Town Hall.

Stratham: School District Meeting: Fri., March 8, 7:00 p.m., Stratham Memorial School, Proposed Budget: $9,964,011. Other Warrant Articles: Add $75,000 to the existing Maintenance Trust Fund (currently $126,827); Add $100,000 the existing Special Education Trust Fund (currently $75,135); Voting Day: Tues., March 12, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Stratham Municipal Center.

School Board Candidates: - Twelve School Board seats are available when voters go to the polls next month. Candidates for the various independent boards within SAU 16 are listed below. Voting takes place in all districts on Tues., March 12. Registered voters will be asked to choose from among the following. Each term is for three years. Brentwood (1 seat available): Melissa Litchfield; East Kingston (1 seat available): Erin Pettinato; Exeter (2 seats available): Patrick O’Day and Jean Tucker; Exeter Region Cooperative (3 seats available; 1 from each of the following towns: Brentwood—Liz Faria and Linda Garey, Exeter—Darrell Chichester, Kensington—vacant); Kensington (1 seat available): Stacy Surprenant; Stratham (2 seats available); 1 seat for one year: James Firmin and Eric von der Linden; 1 seat for three years: Everett Lamm.

Coop Budget Advisory Candidates: - Four seats on the Budget Advisory Committee for the Exeter Region Cooperative School District are available when voters go to the polls next month. Candidates are listed below. Voting takes place in all districts on Tues., March 12. Registered voters will be asked to choose from among the following. Three of the four seats are for three-year terms; the seat available for a Kensington representative is for a one-year term. Exeter (three-year term): John Bridle; Newfields (three-year term): Simon Heslop; Stratham (three-year term): Lucy Cushman; Kensington (one-year term): vacant.

Thank You for Your Service: Serving on a school board today is no easy task. The commitment of time and energy is often more significant that one imagines at first. SAU 16 has been fortunate over the years to have capable and dedicated individuals devote some of their community service efforts to help the students, families, and staff members of their respective communities. In March 2013, the following individuals will be leaving their school board seats to others. Their service is gratefully appreciated. Brentwood—Linda Garey (served 3 years); East Kingston—Bob Nigrello (served 6 years); Exeter Region Cooperative—Kate Miller (Exeter – served 3 years on the Coop Board and 6 years on the Exeter Board); Joni Reynolds (Kensington – served 3 years); Kensington— Alice Mower (served 9 years); Newfields—Michael Price (served 6 years).
