EAST KINGSTON — This month, East Kingston Elementary School faculty and families are participating in multiple outreach programs to benefit others in need.
The PTO is doing a school-wide soup can drive to benefit the food pantry and saving the labels to benefit the school.
Emily Darby, the Literacy Coach, collaborated with Jennifer Conley and Lauren Conley of O’Neil Cinemas in Epping to sell movie packs. This effort raised $882 dollars and will go directly to schools in Rockaway that were devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
Two fourth graders from Ms. Titone’s fourth grade class, Charlotte Sckaal and Olivia Pelletier, have partnered with Second Generation in Greenland, to organize a winter wear clothing drive for children in need.
Katie Blair and Sarah Oppenhimer, two second grade teachers, worked with their classes to make bubble magnets and then sold them to profit Seacoast Family Promise. This non-profit organization brings shelter, meals and support services to families with children under the age of 18 experiencing homelessness.
