— Time flies doesn't it…. where, oh where, did the summer go? We can't say the weather was a problem because it was one of the best in recent years say those who forecast it. But students, teachers, and parents facing the reality of schools opening soon (some in August) would have varying opinions of the summer ending soon. Pictured above, Brittany Giblin of Hampstead is stocking up on all types of school supplies at Walgreens in East Hampstead, as she prepares for her flight to attend the University of Mississippi. Brittany is the daughter of Paula and Teddy Giblin, and is a graduate of Pinkerton Academy. At left, Alex Kennedy, a junior at Timberlane Regional High School, enjoyed his last days of school vacation cooking up a storm at Sunset Park Campground in Hampstead. The menu consisted of homemade baked beans, thick ham steaks, garden fresh salad, bakery crusted rolls, and mango juice (diet) by Snapple. Alex is the son of Mary and Jake Kennedy of Plaistow.
