Students on the Rise

Berklee College of Music announces that Kyle Oppenheimer of Kingston has earned placement on the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2013 academic year.

Recently the Community Crossroads Development Committee awarded 8 high school seniors scholarships. Each recipient received a check for $500.00. The following students submitted their winning essays to Community Crossroads: Zachary Arnold and Brayla Natoli, Salem High School; Ashely St. John, Pinkerton Academy; Travis Dudal, Timberlane Regional High School; Katie Felson, Windham High School; Sara Drury and Angelica Gardella, Sanborn Regional High School, and Mickayla Aboujaoude, Pelham High School.

Lawrence Merrill of Kensington, a fourth-year student in the film and animation program in RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, made the Dean’s List for the Spring 2013 quarter.

Emmanuel College held its 91st Commencement exercises on May 11, 2013. During the ceremony, more than 560 students were awarded degrees including: Emily Kathleen MacDougall of Exeter graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English - Communication, Media & Cultural Studies and Management; and Haley Grace Larson of Kingston graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - Health & Counseling.

  •  Successful Conservation Collaboration

    On June 17, the sophomore class of Sanborn Regional High School made a field trip to the Old Frye Town Forest, one of Kingston's five town forests, to assist the Kingston Conservation Commission in the removal of invasive plants from the area near the trailhead, notably, an extensive and aggressive patch of Japanese knotweed. This project was the culmination of the school's third year of intra-curricular collaboration with the Commission to address local environmental issues, and to make conservation an area of study and research. Congratulations from the Commission to the teachers and students for a job well done!

  • Volunteer of the Year

    Atkinson Academy Elementary School has named its Volunteer of the Year for 2014. Timberlane Regional High School graduate Ashley Higham, right, received the award from teacher Meredith Bastien, pictured left. Ashley volunteered her services three days a week for two hours in 5-K Intensive Needs classes during the school year.
