EE First Day

Carriage Towne News

---- — EPPING - Epping Elementary School will start the school year on Tues., September 3, with its annual First Day of School Celebration for Grades 1-5. Parents, guardians and relatives of the students have been invited to join their children and the teachers and staff of Epping Elementary for a special morning event that is designed to bring together the school and the community.

“First Day” is an opportunity for parents and guardians to meet other parents and guardians as well as to get to know the people who have a shared interest in their children’s education and to help all children enjoy the first day of school.

At 8:00 a.m., the building opens for parents and children. The cafeteria will have representatives from the school, town and local organizations that provide services to kids. The lobby, library and art room will also be open for viewing. When buses arrive, students and parents will go to classrooms to meet their classmates and teachers. Each teacher conducts a welcoming program that involves parents and children. Parents then leave classrooms to attend for an information program back in the school cafeteria and to view the newly completed playground. These events will end by 9:25 a.m.

Epping Elementary School’s official starting time begins ten minutes earlier. Starting September 3, school officially begins at 8:30 a.m. At the end of the school day, walkers will be dismissed at 3:05 p.m. and bus students at 3:10 p.m.

The First Day Program is supported by the Epping School District, Epping PTO and over 60 businesses and individuals who donate money, supplies and services. As a result of these donations every student and staff member receives a school T-shirt printed with the name and logo of the Epping Eagles.

Please note that Epping Elementary School’s kindergarten students and their families attend a set of small group orientation sessions on Wed., September 4, and begin classes officially on Thurs., September 5.
