EMS Junior Honor Society

EPPING — Epping Middle School inducted twenty-one seventh and eighth graders into its Sapere Aude Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society on March 14. Those students academically eligible (a 3.0 or B average) were given applications to complete to highlight their leadership, service, and character. Their applications were reviewed by the Faculty Council, and final selections were made by the group.

Epping Middle School’s current members, Keelin Berger, Evelyn Carleton, Emma Coolidge, Stephanie DiFrancesco, Maylee Gagnon, Rebecca Milbury, and Katie Pelletier led the Induction Ceremony along with Principal Kyle Repucci and Dean of Students Christine Hebert who gave the opening and closing remarks. All new and present members, parents, and guests were treated to a continental breakfast following the ceremony.

New members are: eighth graders Kayla Wells, Everett Brown, Victoria Maestas, Chloe Meyers, Caleb West, and Konrad J. Hodgman; seventh graders Megan Marasca, Adam LePage, Casey Needham, Gracia Jordan, Colin Farris, Hunter Bullock, Anna Re, Maya Martin, Kiana Pond, Morgan Shanley, Abby Simard, Lily O’Connell, Meghan Galante, Rachel Martin, and Addison Bickford.

  •  Successful Conservation Collaboration

    On June 17, the sophomore class of Sanborn Regional High School made a field trip to the Old Frye Town Forest, one of Kingston's five town forests, to assist the Kingston Conservation Commission in the removal of invasive plants from the area near the trailhead, notably, an extensive and aggressive patch of Japanese knotweed. This project was the culmination of the school's third year of intra-curricular collaboration with the Commission to address local environmental issues, and to make conservation an area of study and research. Congratulations from the Commission to the teachers and students for a job well done!

  • Volunteer of the Year

    Atkinson Academy Elementary School has named its Volunteer of the Year for 2014. Timberlane Regional High School graduate Ashley Higham, right, received the award from teacher Meredith Bastien, pictured left. Ashley volunteered her services three days a week for two hours in 5-K Intensive Needs classes during the school year.
