Student Council Conference

On November 9 and 10, Sanborn Regional Student Council attended the annual student council fall conference at Waterville Valley. This years theme was “Mission Impossible”. While at the conference center, students learned different skills and tools to help better their schools, as well as improve themselves as leaders. They participated in icebreakers and group activities throughout the day. Guest speakers included Jennifer Frank, a police officer from Plymouth State University who talked about safety and the dangers of Facebook and Mr. Phil, a national motivational speaker that has spoken in every state. Every student council also brought several baskets full of items to help the Midway Boys Shelter. To finish the day students had dinner and mingled at the dance, getting to know each other for the year to come. Candles were then lit at the candle lighting ceremony for the walk back to the hotel in silence. With a closer bond with one another and their advisors student council couldn’t be better prepared to take on their schools problems and wishes this year.
