KINGSTON —If your child will be five years old by September 30, 2013, and you are a resident of Kingston, he or she is eligible for kindergarten in September of 2013. Registration materials will be available beginning on March 4 at the D.J. Bakie School office and can be picked up any school day between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please bring your child’s original birth certificate when registering your child.
New Hampshire State Law requires all children to have had immunizations for DPT, Polio, Mumps, Measles, German Measles, Chicken Pox, and Hepatitis B prior to entry to school. They also require each child to have a complete medical examination within one year prior to entry into kindergarten. A form to be completed by your physician will be with the registration materials. They recommend scheduling your child’s physical exam as soon as possible. Students may not enter kindergarten without these completed forms. Please plan to complete the registration process by April 12 so that your child may be assigned to a classroom.
An orientation and information night for parents of incoming kindergarten students will take place on Tues., March 28, at 6:30 p.m. at D. J. Bakie School. School personnel, the principal, assistant principal, school nurse, guidance counselor and kindergarten teachers, will be available at the orientation to answer any questions.
All incoming kindergarten students will participate in a screening process. Student screenings will take Thurs., April 11 and Fri., April 12.
Kingston residents should call D.J. Bakie School at 642-5272 to schedule a screening appointment.
