Kindergarten Registration

EPPING —Epping Elementary School asks parents and guardians of children eligible to attend Epping Kindergarten to join school staff for a meal and registration program that will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wed., February 13, at the Epping Elementary School. The school currently offers two half-day public programs and three full day classes that charge tuition for the extra half day. All Epping children who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2013 may attend kindergarten at the school.

Parents and guardians should call 679-8018 to let the school know they intend to register a child for the 2013-14 school year and whether they will be able to attend the registration session.

At the registration parents will meet staff and other parents; complete the registration process and schedule children for screenings; and learn about the kindergarten program and take a tour of a kindergarten classroom. The school will serve pizza and healthy snacks for all who attend. In case of snow, the program will be held Tues., February 19.

Parents and guardians are asked to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and immunization records to the February 13 meeting. According to New Hampshire state law, children cannot enter school without these documents. Parents are urged to schedule appointments with their physicians for a health examination if they have not done so yet.

The meeting on February 13 is for parents, guardians and the school staff so that there is time to explain the kindergarten program, answer questions and schedule screening appointments. Due to the numbers attending, the school cannot provide child care and asks parents to make arrangements for child care.
