---- — PLAISTOW — The New Hampshire Retired Educators Association offers three (3) $1,500 scholarship awards to graduates of New Hampshire secondary schools. The students must be in their junior year of an accredited college or university, pursuing a course of study that leads to teacher certification. If in a five-year program, they must be in their senior year of study.

The Irene Hart Memorial Award is given to a student who is completing his/her course of study at a New Hampshire college or university. The NHREA Memorial Award is given to a student completing his/her course of study at a non-New Hampshire college or university. The Mary W. Ruell Memorial Award is given to a student who is completing a course of study in Journalism or English at a college in New Hampshire or out of state college.

Completed applications are due on May 1, 2014. The forms may be obtained from a retired educator in your area: Phyllis Simmons (382-8405), Margaret Pyszka (472-5716), Nancy Doe (978-373-0960), or Patricia Bolduc (524-2662).
